GBSI has worked with banks and corporations to identify bankable projects for funding. We thus have experience operating in a financial environment in which small and medium enterprises have access for start up, expansion and working capital. GBSI aims to create, promote and implement practical and innovative solutions to overcome obstacles to the flow of financial services for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the areas of performance systems, institutional capacity and appropriate products. GBSI also works on methodologies to increase the quantity and quality of effective financial products and services, including micro insurance and micro savings.
Financial Sector Infrastructure:Recognizing that improvements in financial sector regulation and access to finance drastically affect broad-based economic growth, we address constraints to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) financing and work towards effective use of credit bureaus, well-functioning capital markets, effective and sustainable banking supervision, and the use of innovative mobile technologies.
Financial Products: GBSI develops products, systems and processes to enhance the capacity of financial institutions to provide financial products and services for MSEs and underserved businesses. Our products allow the financial institutions to provide diversified financial products to serve a larger client base.
